Hi everyone i am new to this post. I have been having sever digestion problems for about 6 months now, loss of appetite, can't eat much at one sitting i have lost almost 28 lbs. I had an END and colonoscopy and the reports came back with moderate antrum on Wednesday of this last week, gastritis and moderate diverticulosis i consult with my doctor on Monday. i finally found a GI that would listen to me instead of just saying you have IBS. Currently taking 40mg of Prilosec 2x a day. My problem is that I drink beer everyday and smoke, I am aware that this is not going to help the situation, not at all. just wondering if anyone else out there has struggled with alcoholism and smoking with this horrible disease, and what they did to resolve the problem. I'm sure there is plenty of people who have, as this is what got some of us here to begin with. i have cut my drinking in half (from 8 beers a day to 4) and plan to keep cutting the drinking down more everyday, including the darn smoking.
Also did anyone have any luck with herbal medications or seeking a nutrition specialist, or hospitalization?
I did start juicing carrots etc and that seems to help with the pain and i have been starting to eat a little bit more, forcing myself to do so. Can't afford to lose anymore weight.
Any positive feedback would be appreciated. No negative comments please.
