I have been suffering from reflux (GERD and severe LPR) for more than two years. The symptoms are the usual; fortunately, I see a reduction of symptoms with 80 mg of Nexium and usual the other usuals (low-acid diet, chewing gum, alkaline water, raising the bed, etc.) but it's not a complete elimination of symptoms.
I have decided that I would like to try and get some kind of anti-reflux surgery soon. That being said, I am in my late-20s and only weigh 130 lbs/60ish kg. I've heard that by some definitions, that is 'starving.' I eat about 2500-3000 calories a day, go to the gym 2-3 times a week, and I still have difficulty gaining weight.
My concern is that after I get surgery (assuming a surgeon agrees), then weight gain will be impossible.
Has anyone been able to gain weight after anti-reflux surgery?
