Hello everyone. I've been reading up on this forum for a very long time and finally decided to register to become a member today.
For the past 9 years, I've been having very unusual symptoms that I'm not sure whether it is associated with other things as well aside from GERD/acid reflux. Here is the list:
-Waking up with a "heavy" stomach in the morning as if I ate a heavy meal the night before (which I didn't)
-Lightheadedness in the morning and sometimes during the day
-Trapped gas/difficulty burping, which causes the "lump in the throat" feeling and then gagging and sometimes dry heaving
-A little bit of acid and food coming back up when I am able to burp
-Dyspepsia even if I eat the smallest meal ever
-Dysphagia, especially with trigger items like potato
-Nausea during and after a meal
-Infrequent stomach burns which goes away after a few minutes
-Occasional stomach and intestinal cramps
-Weight loss (no matter how much I try to force myself to eat)
I've made a food diary before and I believe these symptoms flare up even more when I drink coffee, eat chocolate, oranges, tomatos, and cheese. I have limited my intake on all these items however, I still experience the symptoms above.
3 years ago, I did a barium swallow, ultrasound, and an h.pylori test. My doctor said everything was normal. I was prescribed with anti-depressants/anxiety meds and a generic drug similiar to Nexium. When these medications didn't work either, I was prescribed with two different drugs, one called Tecta and the other I forgot the name of but it is supposed to help with stomach spasms. Like a type of relaxant.
Can anyone shed some light on these symptoms? Could it be something more than just GERD? I have an appointment next week to see my doctor and hope to request to have some tests done. I especially want to have my gallbladder checked.
