Hi Lola12. Welcome here. Ever since I was a kid I have loved bread and butter as a treat. Now that I have GERD, I can't touch bread at all; not white, not whole wheat, not multigrain, not organic, not homemade...nothing.
But everyone is different and for many a bit of bread now and then is still fine. But all you can really do is try and see how you react. But whole wheat will always be healthier than white.
As for butter alternatives; the only thing I can suggest is coconut oil.
