Thanks for the response. What do you mean by reactive stomach? I was told all those years ago that I had Gastritis but the three endoscopies I have had have never shown it (including one two weeks ago). The GI docs have never mentioned a reactive stomach. But would make sense as I have reactive bowels with my IBS. I did have some crisps last night as well which of course would be sharp. I eat them during the day fine but maybe they were still in my stomach when I went to sleep.
I was on 40mg of omeprazole in the morning and 300mg of Zantac at night until today. My GI doc has switched me to 40mg of Nexium twice a day instead.
Fortunately it tends to settle down during the day.
Is the Gaviscon liquid the same as Carafate? The liquid one coats your oesophagus and stomach in the same way. It is the only thing that helps even a little bit.
What do you eat when your stomach is reacting? I have an appetite so want to eat loads of things but no my stomach won't cope.
Also, I've been diagnosed with a hiatus hernia and gerd so surely it's that
