Hi Buster1, good to know you tried weaning yourself from PPI then now Zantac. I have the same ordeal, stopped PPi July 24, and now is my 6th day Zantac Free. Keep in touch for updates. It will be tough but you can do it. I took some TUMS and Rolaids (2X) because of eating restaurant food. (steamed fish could be mixed with MSG). But if I was strict on my diet I might not need it. There are days that you might be weak, but just divert yourself on something happy/stress free possible. (for me I spend time on my garden and prayers). I have some discomfort after eating but I eat little portions. I am taking probiotics and 1/2 bottle of Yakult each meal. This helped my food digestion. We are different but this is what made be feel better. I'm also taking Vit D. Magnesium helps (still experimenting). I wake up at night hungry so I have Boost drink, mix with warm water. I'm praying to sleep more than 4 hrs. That's why probably I'm feeling weak due to lack of sleep? I have a reclining bed and recliner chair so it's just me waking up hungry.
