Thanks so much

Hello Donnamschad.... I am new to this site also, but thought you would like to know that I suffered from acid reflux for years plus it made my  asthma symptoms 10 times worse. "So, five weeks ago I had the Nissen Fundliplication surgery done. Actually I  had Laparoscopic surgery, in which the stomach is wrapped around the outside of the esophagus. I had a 3/4 wrap, plus I had a hiatal hernia repaired at the same time. The surgery took three hours. The first two days were the worst for me, but after  four weeks I was back to work, and golfing !  I still can't eat solids they get stuck going  down, so I eat allot of soups, cream cereals, ensure, etc, etc. My reflux is so much better, but the surgeon says it will take up to 6 months for my shortness of breath to let up. I take nothing for the acid reflux, which is such a wonderful feeling ! I don't have to sit up to sleep any more, and  the burn is completly gone !  I am still having a hard time swollowing but it normally takes 6 to 8 weeks to eat normal again, so hopefully I have only a few more weeks to go...If not then I will need my esophagus stretched.  Hope I helped with your question....Mikado :-)
