Hi
5 weeks ago i started feeling shortness of breath, then it became worse and got better after a few days, it was very debilitating almost like asthma. I went to the doc and he didn't find anything wrong, then my stomach started bloating and i realized that the pressure it caused on my lung made it hard to breath.
I've tried changing my diet, and trying home remedies like eating honey, apples, yogurt, no spicy food, smaller meals, and for a while things had improved. All of a sudden i got the shortness of breath again, it is severe, since i have had asthma as a child and don't remember it being so scary. I went to the doc again and he's doing some tests, a blood test to see if i have an ulcer, my mom's side of the family has had ulcers in the stomach before so my doc said that it was possibly an ulcer.
He gave me Zantac and we're waiting on the results of the blood work.
I've also had burning feeling under my sternum and esophagus, a feeling of something stuck in my throat, but they're gone, now it is only bloating in my stomach and shortness of breath.
The doc said that if the test comes back negative i should do an endoscopy.
This is weird to me, it came in so all of a sudden and it's been there for a month or so.
I go back and forth if it is GERD, ulcer or hiatal hernia, or a combo of all 3 tongue
The breathing thing is so debilitating, i have it today and it puts me in an altered state almost from not breathing right.
I bought some Mastic Gum capsules, just in case is H.Pylori. I hear that kills the bug.

Welcome to the forum.
While most here aren't doctors, everyone here has experienced pain.  And we are all willing to help when we can.

What are some more symptoms?  Did you take any antibiotics?  Stress?

My doctor told me that acidic fumes from a persons stomich can cause a wheeze and shortness of breath.  Which I have experienced in the past.  Sounds like you have something, not quite sure what.  Could be gastritis.  Definatly have the endoscope.  Then go from there.

Best wishes.

thanks, for your reply.
I am possibly getting my results today and if they don't find that it is an ulcer, the doc wants me to do an endoscopy.
My main symptoms now are like discomfort under my left rib cage, gas, bloated stomach and intestines, some heartburn.
and the most scary symptom is shortness of breath. I can deal with the other symptoms fine, but not being able to breath is debilitating and scary.
It happens with different intensity but i've had 2 scary episodes.
It started like this about a month ago and then it became more GERD like, heartburn, stomach symptoms but in the last week the breathing thing is happening again. I am going to the doc and hopefully will know soon.
My guess is that I have an ulcer that is causing GERD.
Before all this started i was feeling a sting in my stomach at night, it would wake me up.

As far as I'm concerned the GERD and ulcer usually come together. I had an ucer years ago this year I went for an endoscopy. No sign of ulcer. But now I get acid reflux really bad almost every night . Recently went to ENT for a hearing test. He also checked my nose, and throat. He said "you must be having acid reflux" He said it was damaging my vocal cords and I should ask my pc for meds. (which I used to take before when I had the ulcer)
