I'm Feeling Good! what a difference a good doc makes

Ok so I started on aciphex 10 days ago and had a "relapse" over the weekend and that depressed me. I went to a GI specialist who made me feel weird by saying that my shortness of breath wasn't related to GERD that he didn't know what i had, and to try aciphex for a month to see what happened.
Well, I decided to go to another doc and she took her time with me i asked all the questions i had and she explained how GERD gets aggravated that the shortness of breath is a common symptom, etc. At the end she called another doc and he confirmed that, they said to try aciphex for a month at least and if it doesn't improve that we'll do an endoscopy but in the meantime to watch my diet, raise the bed, eat small meals, etc and let it heal.
It made all the difference for me to be with a caring doc that reassured me i was in the right path, and have a plan of action of what to do.
They also gave me a lot of aciphex samples so i won't have to buy it.
I also have been feeling much better these last few days. It is amazing how you can feel better when your attitude changes. :-)

I agree to that.  I was diagnosed with acid reflux almost two weeks ago.  I have started feeling better the last few days.  But i noticed my acid reflux was worse when i got stressed out about work or school.  So i have decided to get a nother job.. soon and take a semester off from school, move back in with my parents and just chill for awhile.  I have noticed that i feel so much better.. Acid reflux not as bad and just happier all together.

me too i just have a hard time sometimes eating the right food, specially since i eat out all the time, you get some dish that wasn't supposed to be spicy but it is, or too greasy or has cumin, I've been going to the Whole foods since it is a lot healthier and i can choose like a piece of chicken with broccoli and that is it.
What i find hard also is to eat smaller meals, sometimes i am too hungry and i eat as i used to and i feel it more, the doc says that GERD makes stomach emptying slower so that is why i have been feeling so full after eating and gives me shortness of breath, but I can tell it is definitely getting better.
I guess this will teach me to eat better, have less spicy, less beer, less coffee, and be mindful of what i eat.
You are right stress is a major factor when it comes to GERD, what triggered it for me was a situation at work. I found someone doing something criminal and had to speak out and it got big quick. It was horrible for me, although i felt better that i did something, but it took a toll. Now i want to relax for thanksgiving, be in nature, eat small meals, and take care of myself
