confused   HI, For some reason, I get terrible heartburn when I drink water. It doesn't seem to matter if the water is cold. room temp. or warm. Also, the water is from a filtration system. This started about 6 months or so ago. Also, I don't gulp it down in one shot but just sip on it. Anyone out there have the same problem? Thanks.

Hi frogholler and a warm welcome to HW....Hope you come to love this wonderful gang as much as I have. As for your water inquiry, we have had some discussion regarding it before...so the answer to your question is Yes, some of us do (I am one of them). Unfortunately I cant remember what post the info was in. I do remember it has something to do with the water stirring up the juices (acid) and making it easier to "come back up". I seem to remember that it doesnt really matter where the water is from...tap, cooler, spring etc etc. nor did the temperature matter (just in case you also suffer from IBS or other digestion problems...room temp water is the best way to go). Im sure someone will be along soon to either guide you to the original information (it wasnt taht long ago...maybe a month, 2 at the most). Members found relief through different methods...mine was through pills and a carb regulated diet. Hope I helped at least a little until someone else can give you more solid information. At least you know you arent alone  tongue . Best of luck. Keep us updated and please, feel free to post any other questions and also share your own experiences and any advice you have. Welcome aboard.

Hi, I want to thank you guys for your replies and I'm going to start keeping a diary of what I eat and the times and also when I have a drink of water as it doesn't happen all the time.  Seems to give me trouble when I have water a few hours after a meal. I really don't want to give up my fluid intake each day and try to get at least 6 to 8 glasses a day. Will keep you posted. :-)

Hi Sean, Sonetimes I'll just take a couple titralac antacid tablets if it gets real bad but usually, it will go away on it's own within a half hour or so.

Been there, done that. I used to get HB from EVERYTHING! Stay away from chemicals!!! Probiotics from the health food store NOT the pharmacy will help heal your stomach but it will take up to 6 months to see good results. I did it back in 2001 and have not had heartburn till now. Now I get it from tap water. My solution. Get back on probiotics and BOIL the water! It works for me. My water company tries to tell me it's me, but I know better! There are too many chemical "processes" to purification of tap water before it reaches us and we are drinking all of it!!!

I have taken no meds in my lifetime and will not begin now - just to cover up the inadequacy of our water supply!
