Hello to everyone and Dr Norm.
The low carb diet by Dr Norm seems to be effective , even with my severe gerd. Only problem is exactly what do you eat for the first week at 25 carbs per day? I find myself eating most of the carbs in the Am and running on protein the rest of the day. Does anyone have a low carb plan that they can give me? I am not exactly sure of what to eat and 6 small meals are still better than 3 large ones.
Found the Dannon Smoothie's low carb to be quite good for a snack at only 4 net carbs. I think someone had a daily diet plan from this site, but I can't seem to find the link to it. Boy am I going to lose weight on this diet..need to though, overweight by 20 lbs now...

yeah  Been there done that with diets!  Instead of a low carb diet, why not try an all natural wellness program?  I have Crohn's Disease and I also suffer from GERD and I have been on this new wellness program that has seemed to alleviate many of my symptoms.  I eat vegitables, meats, fruits and whole grains.  Most of which had been on the "do not eat list" because of my Crohn's.  I find that I am tolerating it very well and my GERD symptoms have been alleviated also.  The only things I stay away from, especially in the first 10 days, is breads, pastas and dairy.  And yes, the best side effect for me was also losing weight and inches, which helps too if you have GERD. I, according to my dr and based on how I feel about myself, am overweight by 30lbs.  Funny though, people look at me and say you can't tell.  Good thing I guess. My email is in my profile if you want to know more of how I am doing and what I did.  After the first 10 days, I slowly introduced the breads and pastas and very little dairy back into my diet without side effects or symptoms.  I wish everyone would try it at least once.  It's so hard to find the right foods and moderation of eating these days with so much info thrown at you.  I don't rule out western medicine or diets, I just like to try natural stuff first and this program has seemed to help.
I wish you luck in whatever path you chose and hope you find relief.

Hi SasGirl,
Can't find your email in your profile, so perhaps you can post it here for me. I would be interested in the wellness diet your following due to your Chrons. My Brother In law suffers from Chrons, and has to take a B12 supplement as well. There is a possible cure for Chrons on the horizon, are you aware of the new research being done in Israel with the Enzo Biochem company of New York? They have done clinical trials in Israel and have had great success with this. My Other Brother in law, who lives in Israel ( not the one with Chrons) knows personally a woman and her daughter that both had chrons and now are healed as they were in the clinical trials there. Its a natural cure, no side effects.
