I have the anxiety condition for awhile. I take medication for it though it don't really work ya. Does anyone know if the anxiety condition can cause someone to have more acid reflux though. Any advice would be cool. Thanks.

Do you have both , anxiety and reflux? Which came first?

I don't think its well understood if anxiety can cause reflux (and if it does, it happens over years, not in a few days). Stress can definitely cause reflux, but again its longer time frame for it to happen.

On the other hand, reflux can also cause anxiety, and that can happen in much shorter period. This kind of anxiety, in my opinion, is psuedo-anxiety. I have experienced it. As soon as reflux gets better, anxiety goes away. I think this pseudo anxiety is due to reflux irritating the "anxiety centers" in the stomach-esophageous region. (Such as feeling butterflies..or a queasiness in the stomach---these are locations where you "feel" the anxiety---reflux is probably hitting these areas to make you "feel" a pseudo-anxiety).
[This is probably reason why anti-anxiety medications work for reflux, as they block the anxiety-centers from "feeling" irritation from the reflux.]

This is just from my experience and reading...please reconfirm with your doctor.

Thanks. I have anxiety and acid reflux though. I think I had anxiety before the gerd condition. I can't really find a medication that works for the acid reflux though. Can I ask if you have the gerd condition.

I have breathlessness due to LPR and was followed by anxiety symptoms, but I don't have standard GERD symptoms.
The LPR was not diagnosed by any US doctor, but I basically ruled out other causes, and got a positive result (indicates LPR) on the mail-in PepTest from UK.
My manometry came normal, and pH testing result came close to upper range of normal.
Dr prescribed 30mg lanzopresol, but I did not take any.
I did a home low acid test for a few days, that tells me I probably have low acid issues.
So I have recently started taking apple cider vinegar, about 3 to 4 times a day. This seems to mostly help with the symptoms. Hoping it continues to help.
I also recently started taking a very low dose of a homeopathic medicine Pulsitilla 200c, 3 to 4 pellets every 4 days. This was suggested by a alternative medicine practitioner. Its such a low dose, that I am not sure if its doing anything at all. But there is no harm, so I am continuing.
