I will be having my wrap done April in two days.

I am having my wrap done for a couple reasons. I have extreme GERD that is uncontrollable. I also have a hiatal hernia. But, the most reason I am having the surgery is because I have severe asthma that appears to come on when my acid reflux gets out of control.

The doctors think that the acid goes up into my throat and into my lungs which causes me to have asthma attacks. I believe this is happening too.

Has anyone else had asthma due to reflux and had the wrap done? If so, what was your results after surgery? Did you still have asthma? Or did you have it less times than normal.

I have asthma from the reflux...but also have asthma when I exercise, breathe in cold air, and chemicals will put me into an asthma attack. But the reflux seems to set me off more than 75% of the time.

Thanks for any responses.

Hi Angel,

Could you explain to us what a wrap is?

Sorry you're having such issues. One suggestion is I saw in your interests on your profile that you work with paints? Might this be a problem for you?

Good morning.

Maybe I posted this in the wrong forum and it should be moved to a Fundoplication Forum?

I am talking about Nissen fundoplication (Nissen Wrap is a surgical procedure to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease and hiatal hernia. My surgeon calls it a wrap when we talk about it.. just a Wrap. LOL

The PaintShop Pro is an online program that I teach people how to use in my graphics forum online... no real paint involved. But, believe me... if I was trying to paint in real life, that would send me into an asthma attack for sure.

Thanks for your reply.

You have posted in the correct forum, the member does not understand what the surgery is that you are
speaking about. There are lots of posts in this forum about various surgeries for GERD.

I suggest that you use our search feature in blue above & type in what you are looking for. Be sure to add GERD forum that way it will weed out a lot of threads not related.
