I am 16, and have had chronic GERD since I was born. I have tried multiple different medications and done tests but never get any answer except "yeah you have GERD". At random times I get these intense spams that are kind of like dry heaving and hiccupping at the same time. They are very hard to put into words, and describe. Sometimes it gets to the point where I can't breath. This can go from anywhere between 30 minutes and 3 hours. They tend to happen more right when I wake up or at night, but recently they have been happening at random times. I can go a couple of years and not get them, but then I can get them multiple times a week for a month. They are so draining, and after I am in pain, sometimes for days. Nothing I have ever seen is this a symptom of GERD. Doctors have told me they are anything from me wanting attention to diaphragm spams(which from what I can tell are just a fancy name for hiccups but maybe I am wrong). Recently on my own I have found something called esophageal spams. Nothing really seems to match totally(or really at all) and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with any of this. Anything is very much appreciated, I am tired of not having any answers.
