I had an appt with my homeopathic dr today (via phone since she is not here in town).  She told me that I am cutting down my prilosec too quickly.  She says I need to take up to 5mos to come off of it!!  Man!!  She said if I go any quicker than that, the acid rebound will be more than I can handle.  She is also adding something called mastic, slippery elm and marshmellow root.  She says castor oil packs will also help with pain.

I cant believe all this.  Im in soooooooooo much pain today, I could just die!!!!!!  Im burning up everywhere too.  I really hope this stuff helps!!  My poor GI tract cant take much more.

She also has me continuing digestive enzymes.  I was taking aloe juice and she told me I couldn't take whole leaf aloe, that I had to take something else but now I dont know which kind to take??

I've heard that slippery elm and marshmallow root are really good to heal the GI tract. Good luck to you. Just call her back about the aloe.

Hi Nancy,

I'm so sorry to hear you're not feeling well. :( Maybe you need to come off of it very gradually, but five months? It's as if the drug companies designed these medications to have people like us forever addicted to them = $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Feel better soon!

It's my second day off Nexium. I'm feeling jumpy and jittery, some unexplained discomfort here and there but nothing too bad. I'm most concerned about getting to the point where I can't eat, which always sends me into a downward spiral.

yep, I think the drugs are designed that way too!!  I feel like I am a slave to the prilosec right now.  I am trying to hard to get off them.  I have terrible burning stomach pain while ON them, so they can not be good for me!!
