TIF procedure for reflux

Hello!
My son was born with Gerd and he is now 21. He was recently told by his GI specialist that he cannot take his PPI’s anymore. These have been his lifeline his whole life. Someone just told us about TIF. Has anyone on here had it? If so what was your experience like. We are with Kaiser and I’m sure they don’t cover it. How much does it cost and who does the procedure?

Have you used the search feature? You can find a lot of comments and information from members there regarding the TIF procedure. I would check with your insurance provider before you do much research, some carriers won't cover the cost of the TIF procedure. I had the Nissen Fundoplication five years ago, and have never looked back.
