25 yo male here, 145 lbs 6 feet tall. about six months ago I had a minor reflux event that prevented me from taking a full breath whatsoever. It was after months of sitting and doing nothing really. After two weeks of yoga and exercise i felt 90% better. Old habits died hard unfortunately and it happened again and hasn't gotten any better... constipation and daily reflux has shown up over the months.
Now I've spent a ton of time researching and I found belly breathing is a big help along with limonene for the reflux. At one point, while doing an exercise to push my stomach down two months ago I got a full breath! I genuinely believe my stomach is just adhered to my diaphragm due to scar tissue caused by reflux (not a true hiatal hernia).
Unfortunately, because i can't fully breathe, i don't know how to stop the vicious cycle of bad breathing causing reflux causing adhesions causing bad breathing. How else do I strengthen my diaphragm? How do I break those adhesions?
I would.have to be truly desperate to consider PPIs and surgery would likely just make adhesions worse.
