hi gang i ususally post on the chronic fatique and arthritis but i have to say that i have also gerd and ibs. now these two illnesses seem to go hand in hand with my psoriatic arthritis.
that being said i am more at risk for ibs because i chronically get c dificle and have to take flagyl. this c dificle comes back and haunts me.
either i have constipation for 6 months or diarreaha, i am almost never regular inspite of trying to be wheat free gluten free, etc.
i believe now that this is all related to psoriatic arthritis which can reek havoc with your bowels and or my mom had celiac sprue which means gluten wheat intolerance.
she had the same illness. now i have it, psorisis in the skin, pitting and  verticle ridges on my nails and scalp rashes that do not go away, you can also have IBS, attacks eyes, kidneys, heart, etc.
it is kinda like a cousin to lupus in some ways. i am 50 and constantly battle with all this and it is over whelming becasue on top of it all i have pain from my neck operations.
i am in a constrant quandry over what i should do which diets to follow, etc. the doctors dont know what to do with my anymore since i am not a text book case of regular things.
9-02 crash w/ C-5-6-7 anterior/posterior fusion in neck w/11 screws and 4 metal plates. multilevel HNP at T & L section. FMS, PA in dec 05. SSI approved after 2.5 yr wait. sezuires, CTS, etc. on norco, xanax etc. i dont know what else is wrong with me and neither does anyone else!!!

You have been through a lot, but you seem like a real survivor. My thoughts are with you.

I had an operation on my spine when I was 14 yrs old. Back then, they used chain saws for back operations. Somehow they put me back together. Some doctors are incredible. Now if more G.I. docs would get off their ***es learn a little bit more about the root cause of GERD and push beyond the quick script for nexium. Contolled carb dieting works for my G.I. symptoms.
