I'll try to be brief.
Have Gerd for 6-8 years, generally under control unless abused. Got gastritis 15 months ago and it took until recently to get almost back to my "normal." Was taking 2 Prevacid and 1 Tangamet throughout the day.
I was tired of constant carb cravings (pre-diabetic and was abusing diet) and in order to get back to square I dropped all carbs for 4 or 5 days.
At the end of the 5 days I had to quit the Prev/Tangy because it was causing Gastroparesis like symptoms.
So here we are 3 weeks later and the only time the GERD returns is if I add too much wheat based carbs into my diet. No PPI, No tangy.
As an aside, right before and during all of this I saw a "how its made" on pickles and found myself with a mild pickle craving and in period of week or so went through 16 ounce jar of pickles. This the most pickles I ever had in any period ever.
I did see some a few web articles about Gluten Intolerant (not celiac) Gerd. But also I've seen where vinegar helps folks with low acid gerdness.
So Pickles or Gluten? Comments? Opinions?
