I didn't get much heartburn, but my stomach hurt. Sometimes it ached, other times I felt so empty and hungry, but food didn't help. It was a terrible feeling. I watched my carbs, took papaya enzymes after eating and a probiotic twice a day (I have IBS-D too).
I tried not to take too many antacids because I read about rebound from those and it scared me.
