I have developed a theory that the root cause of reflux (including LPR) is the excess consumption of carbohydrates which feed intestinal microorganisms. These microbes in turn produce gas which drives reflux. It's a new way of looking at things. The approach based on this theory is to control the amount of carbs in your diet, especially starches.
