This morning I was woke up by a very 'hollow' pressure feeling right in the middle of my chest right below my ribcage in the center, and it hurt awwwful and I kept feeling like i was going to throw up but I never did, i would just gag. It seemed as if when I would lean up or stand up it wouldn't be as forceful and I eventually took a tagament pill, and got the most relief laying on my side so i could fall back to sleep. I woke up and it still hurt somewhat. Even now..about 10 hours later it hurts when I swallow food/drink it seems to hurt at the point I would imagine the food/drink is hitting my stomach (on the way down) its almost like a scrapping raw feeling.
I have never had acid reflux or gerd symptoms before and I am a fan of spicy foods so it comes as a surprise to me but I am hoping I can figure it out.
It also feels like I might need to just burp or something but nothing ever happens, there is just a constant hollow/pressure and the pain after swallowing food.
I am sure everyone will recommend going to the doctor about it, which i will but long does Gerd/acid reflux usually last for you guys, is it possible to be lasting as long as it has for me (all day)
thanks for any answers!

It does not sound like you are experiencing acid reflux.
It sounds like Hiatal Hernia to me. The feeling like the diaphram is bruised, Pain right below the sternum.
An endoscopy performed by the doctor can confirm this.

BTW, welcome to Healing Well.
