Just wondering if anybody else has a wheeze when they exhale from GERD?

I have no wheeze, but I do have quitie a hoarse, barking cough that is driving me crazy and I think making matters worse. The GERD is making me cough, then coughing is worsening the inflammation. It makes sense to have a wheeze if there is irritation in the respiratory tract.

Last fall my GERD was pretty bad and I could feel that acid shooting up. Several nights I had a slight wheeze / shortness of breath. I have asthma which kicks up when I am exposed to certain things -- pets, severe dust, etc. This felt the same but different. Not as severe as an attack but a definite shortness of breath.

It only lasted for a few weeks. I started taking Nexium twice a day and changed my diet, both of which helped. I'm back down to once a day Nexium but am avoiding certain things (caffeine, soda, chocolate) and the wheezing hasn't come back.
