Does anybody's chest get sore from GERD when it gets really bad.  Like have a couple days where their esophagus feels sore and when you move suddenly you feel pain in your chest?

The chest pain is definitely the worst symptom of all this to me. My doctor did an ekg because the gi specialist told me chest pain and gerd don't go together!! Can you believe that? My doc thought that was nuts but did the ekg anyway!! I totally lost confidence in the gi doc after that. Of course chest pain plays a part in this! I wish I knew how to tell you to make it go away...

Yes----although when I stopped taking prilosec for a couple of days, I noticed the chest pain and stomach pain went away. I too had an EKG done once when I was having really bad chest pain. Results showed normal.
The chest pain makes you feel like you're having a heart attack! It's scary but I keep thinking I'm too young and I don't know that I have any heart problems.
