I tried going low carb about a month ago and it really helped my GERD. Problem was that I just couldn't seem to get enough calories and dropped more weight that I can't afford to lose. Now my GERD/Gastritis is seriously out of control. I'm on Zantac because I can't take any of the PPI's so I'm not getting much help there.

Has anyone had luck getting 2000+ calories with low carb? How do you do it? What does your typical day of eating look like???

I'm desperate. Thanks for any help you can give me!

I'm having the same problem, but I'm feeling so well these days I don't want to go back to the pain. I don't count calories, but I just try to eat more snacks. I keep a bag of nuts by my desk. I add cheese to just about everything. I up the carbs and much as I can, but stick to complex carbs. I think I'm averaging around 100g per day. Anyone else have any suggestions?

I tried the low carb diet and quit as I lost far too much weight.
I wanted to believe this diet would cure me but It didn't work for me. In fact the carbs help to soak up my stomach acid and I am feeling much better these days and have even cut down my PPI's. I believe this is due to a healthy low fat diet.I am now gaining weight and feeling good.
Calorific foods I have been eating are multigrain breads/nuts and seeds added to foods/dried fruit - also add to cereals/bananas/home-made low-fat cakes(flapjacks are very calorific!)
Good luck
