I have had this surgery and was not told how long it would last. But then I didn't ask either. I do have an ocassional adult beverage. I do not get any pain after I drink. I di dnot have any bad side effects from this surgery. If fact, it was the easiest surgery i had ever had. I had to be on a pudding, smooth foods for about
4-6 weeks. Yes, you do get tired of pudding.
One side effect my surgeon did tell me about
the surgery is that you pass more gas. OH, was he ever right on that one. Don't walk behind me in walmart, I can get jet propelled!!! I am terrified to throw up, so I will do anything to keep from getting to that point of nauseau (sp). I also burp more. I was always a big burper anyway. I tend to swallow alot of air when I eat. I don't drink alot of carbonated drinks either.
I think the test I had to have before the surgery, with the tube down my nose, is worse than the surgery. I have been scoped twice since the surgery and everything is fine with my wrap. Good luck. If you have anymore questions, just email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Like I said it was very successful for me. J
