I usually post under heart and cardiovascular disease but my GI just told me I have a bleeding ulcer in the top portion of my stomach. I will have the colonscopy and endoscopy test both on the same day. I know with the colon one the prep is the worse part of the test but i can do it and not scared at all. But how common is it for people to have both in  the same day I go in June 1st at 7 am tests is at 8am. First day of Hurricane Season to.

Since I am a Vol first responder through our JFRD I want it done  now. .The GI was tlking about giving me nexum too.  but wil wait for the tests then see what the results say on July 13th,also on May 23rd and May 24th have a thyroid nuclear scan too which is ok. But how common is it for a patient to have both colonscopy & endoscopy  both done on the same day?

I recently had an endoscopy and colonscopy on the same day.  The problem was, my doctor did not tell me beforehand she was going to do this.  I thought I was having just the colonoscopy and so did the whole laxative regimen the day before.  Actually I was glad she did them the same day.  It saved a lot of hassle.

Me too, Heidi! My GI scheduled both on the same day which makes me a bit nervous. Do they flip you over, one end to the other ? My appt. is not until june 22. I have Crohn's disease, so I am use to both scopes. Although, I never had them both done at the same time. Helloki, is right. It's probably better to get both done and over with! Good luck on the 2nd and let us know how you are. ~ Sindi

I must say that this sounds like a very good idea...get it over at once. I had my endoscopy without a sedative twice and the last time it was very painful. I have a bleeding ulcer and feel ok but had problems with the new med's regime. Found out you can take ppi's at night as they have a 24 hour suspension. This is helpful because sometimes you have to eat without planning or forget to take med or double up because you don't remember if you took it, etc.

That's my main find for the day and probably for the year! yeah
