Dear Sufferers, Not visited the site in a while. Glad to see people are still getting good feedback from the seasoned veterans. Replies from Dr Norm and the elusive ckgMD would be appreciated. I want to run this scenario past you all.
Ive suffered with terrible pain for many years. Tried all the purple pills (ppi's). Also pills that work directly on the LES to condition the muscle. Pills that rid the stomach of its food contents faster. These all failed. The Doctors could not throw enough of these pills at me. I went down the endoscopy route x2 all normal, although I still had the terrible pain just below my sternum. this radiated into my back between my shoulder blades, causing numbness also. I have what I can only explain as flutters spasms almost like heart palps where this pain radiates from(STRANGE FEELING) Had a check on my gall bladder. All normal. 24hr ph test normal. Manometry test was a tiny bit out, suggests a weak LES. But the Doctor has now palmed me off as the consultants at the hospital said as GI doctors they could not do anything for me as my tract was normal. So My quack now says im suffering from Physcosomatic disorder? How can he tell man who is in bad pain that he is NOT suffering pain and its all in his mind. I suffer from buring throat, sore throat, and the worst IBS known to man. I have ALL the symptoms of classic GERD/ Reflux but it looks like until I suffer damage to my gullet my Doctors will not intervine and help me. I was all ready for the nissen wrap. Im struggling on a daily basis, Im miserable and quite frankly Ive had enough. Tried no carb diets/ fat free diets. You name it ive done it. Where do I go from here? Is this it for me? Do I sit here and wait for this to turn nasty (Barratts) is it acid im suffering from? The Doctor has me down for a mental patient Im sure. Peace to you all.  Lee
