Hi all,
I'm having incredible leg pain all the time.  Perhaps it's from my fibromyalgia, but tylenol isn't touching it, and I can only take about 1 aleve a month.......otherwise, my stomach burns like crazy.  How about the rest of you?  How do you tolerate pain medication?

Hi CathyA I had the worse esphaugeal spasm the other night. I retired at ll pm and had nothing (no food or drink) since 5:30. It was terribly painful and when it was over I said "it's ok I'm dead now" Please tell me what your spasms are like.

I use amtripyline for pain (I take the pediatric dose) and it works for me. It is very inexpensive.

Take care of yourself.

Hi Joan,
I tried elavil about 10 years ago (I think it was 10 mg), and I couldn't see straight for 3 days. Needless to say, I didn't take any more. Tell me about the pediatric dose.
I'm assuming that what I'm having are esophogeal spasms. They can go away as quickly as they come. It feels like........well.......I'm having trouble describing it. It's about at the bottom of my sternum, (inside it.....about where I imagine my esophagus joins my stomach), and it's like a twisting, burning pain. It shoots through to my back. Sometimes it makes my jaw and throat hurt too. It usually doesn't last very long. I went ahead and took the aleve the other day, but the pain seemed to last all morning long. Usually, I can eat something small, and it seems to stop it. But boy is it painful!

Hi CathyA

Sorry elavil didn't work for you. Definately take a pill if you have to. What about darvon? or codeine? or valium? The reason why these pills exist is to help people in pain.

On Monday I have to start a "nuclear stress test" have to go back on Wedneday too.  These docs are gonna kill me yet!!!!!!!!! (he, hee, hee, he)

Take good care of yourself.

Hi Cathy...my test was fine. I neglected to tell you that that 10 mg. is the pediatric dose. Hope you're doing ok.
