I was told to take Zantac at bedtime. And I can't eat again after taking it or can't go to bed for three hours. I get burning in chest along with pain, sore throat and choking. Not fun. Barb

I use Gaviscon to releive the chest pains from acid reflux.  Sometimes I have to take as many as 5 to do the trick.  If I'm lucky, and catch it real early, eating a small amount helps; like a pudding cup or even a banana.  If it comes about while I'm sleeping, that is usually not the case.

If it is real bad (ignored it too long before acting), I have to take bicarbonate of soda in water.  Use just a teaspoon in a small glass of water.

It’s been a pretty uneventful week, actually quite boring, as the theme was to get back to school prepared. (Supplies, clothes, shoes, etc) I still am dealing with anxiety issues and have an appointment on Monday with my family doctor. I will most likely be requesting to increase my medication dosage from 75mg of Effexor XR to 150 mg. I had my follow up cardiologist appointment today to get my results. Everything was normal and he said the chest pain I am experiencing has nothing to-do with my heart. The only advice he gave was the same old six and seven...weight, diet, exercise and to follow-up with my family doctor. Glad to here the 37-year-old ticker is functioning fine and now logically, I need to focus my efforts on treating this anxiety, which hopefully will give me some relieve from this chest discomfort, feelings of nervousness and my reflux problem.

One thing for sure it’s been a real blessing this summer with the weather and an added bonus with the weather going into this long weekend. (Canada) Hot again but cools real early in the evenings, which helps tremendously to sleep. Starting next week, I will have the days alone again (kids back in school) and my plan is to start up my exercise program once again. I took an exercise break through August, since my anxiety was overwhelming. Starting Tuesday, I plan to resume the treadmill program, my weight & toning exercises, start eating better and will resume some things to get me out of the house. (Golfing, swimming, walking, etc.) I am looking forward to returning back to this day routine.

I have been a little lazy lately as I have generally been real tired. The meds tend to make me this way or its the lack of exercise? I am hoping with re-instituting the exercise program that I will regain some of my lost motivation.

I would like to wish everyone a really great weekend and the very best as we head into fall. Thanks again for reading my story and sincere thankyou to all who make this forum such a great success.

Best regards everyone,

Tommer
