Well I guess anything is possible, but I have never heard that reflux was due to anxiety. Have you had a endoscopy done? I'm wondering if you have a hiatal hernia and that is the lump in your throat you are feeling? I really think you should get back with your doc and if you still aren't doing any better.

I think this calls for more testing to be done. What med(s) are you on for the reflux?

Hugs,
Faye

This is very common. In fact many GERD sufferers go through this. If you are prone to anxiety, it can get worse. Has your doc given you anything to ease the anxiety? In my case, I didn't take my doc's anti-depressant or belladona (the belladona didn't work), I chose to exercise and use relaxation techniques to calm down when I felt the gagging feeling, but I know this does not work for everyone. As my GERD improved, the anxiety got better too.

I do know that anxiety plays a part in that it can make you feel worse.  However, I dont believe that it is always the only cause for it.  Have you tried any type of anti-anxiety meds for it?
