Yes, Aciphex is a PPI. I went on Nexium on 4/14, and it took me about 3 months and still I go into a heartburn attack off and on. Right now it is due to a new med by doc felt I needed, WelChol.
I have noticed tonight that I'm feeling better, so hope I'm getting used to that med.
You have to give it time. I know it is hard. I don't know what I would have done without my FMS pain meds to take to stop the heartburn. The Lortabs really worked.
I have hypothyroidism (1953), diabetes type 2 (1976), high cholesterol (1989), gastroparesis (1990), FMS (1995), and GERD (2006). I am on these meds for FMS: Prozac, Xanax, Diclofenac, Cytotec (stomach med to go with Diclofenac), Lortab. I am also on the other meds for various reasons: Nexium, Cytomel, Detrol, Reglan, Novolog insulin, Novolin N insulin, Bumex, Lipitor, WelChol. Also on B12 sublingually, magnesium, Centrum Silver Vitamin, CoQ10.
