Just wondering if anyone here were able to take PPI's during pregnancy.  I'm on Prilosec and I know I'm not supposed to take it when I'm pregnant...I'm not pregnant yet but my husband and I are trying.  I just can't imagine not taking anything.  I've started taking PPI's in July 2005.  I've tried to quit cold turkey but I got so sick that I could hardly eat at all.

Any advice? Thanks.

The best advice is to check with a dr.

However from my experience, I was able to stay on prevacid while pregnant with my 3rd child.  I definately ok'd it through my OB dr first!

Did you or the baby have any adverse side effects? Did your Gerd symptoms get worse during pregnancy?

All I know is that my gastroenterologist is strongly against using Prilosec during pregnancy. He told me I have to stop it when I get pregnant.

Thanks
