Hi,

I have gerd/lpr very badly.  THe worst part of all of this though is the bad breath i think the acid is causing.  I have tried every medication and nothing is working.  I had a endoscopy and the GI saw nothing, 48 hour ph showed severe acid reflux, my gallbladder is fine, my teeth are fine and i am having a gastric emptying study done.  None of the mediciations are working and my GI is doing nothing.  I have no idea what to do.  Is my case bad enough to have surgery. Please hlep

I have tried all of it two and I am so frustrated. Now what happens??? I had an endoscope 3 months ago. Doctor said that I only had a little redness. But nothing works. He now wants to scope me again.

I just want to cry........it has been going on 7 months. I just want to feel normal again.

tinkerbell  I can feel your pain.

I found that zoton, I believe its prevacid for you, didn't always work for me and my GP came up with the following suggestion that really works.

First I take 30mg Zoton in the morning. I tried splitting the dose, 15mg morning, 15mg at night, but that didn't work. Then she put me on metoclopramide which I use to take at night and that worked really well. Unfortunately the metoclopramide didn't agree with me and I now take something else when I need it to settle my stomach down.

My GP told me that if we can't find a drug combination that works then I either live with it or consider surgery.

I am surprised that if your ph test showed severe acid reflux that surgery wasn't suggested as an option although they prefer you to try the medication first to see if you can control it that way.

:-)  i have heard a lot of good things about aciphex, sure hope it helps, did you at least consider going to get some aloe vera gel ? maybe it will help with the inflammation, nothing worked for me til the prilosec, but i caution you about hair loss with it.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for replying.  I  did buy aloe vera in liquid form...i have been taking it for a week and havent noticed a difference.  Honestly the worst part of this whole thing is the that the acid reflux is causing me to have really bad breath.  I brush and scrape my tongue 1000 times but its the throat that really smells. I have tried everything and my GI does not seem to care.  UGh

do you have any other symptoms like being tired, wheezing, can't sleep>

I would try to do a cleanse, also stop all soft drinks and stop eating any foods you normally eat. Start drinking apple cider vinegar as well and taking a multi
