Can reflux or hernia cause soreness to the touch in the upper back? anyone know? I don't know if fibro is triggering the reflux or vice versa, because most of my fibro pain is in my upper back and chest I cannot help but wonder if all my pain is caused by reflux after all.

You may be experiencing a form of anxiety or tension. If this is the case it is not uncommon to have these unpleasant side effects. My suggestion would be to try and find something to relieve the tension. Meditation or medication could help to allow the tense muscles to unwind.

Good luck and remember you’re not alone.

Thank you both so much for responding, will try an ativan and see if it helps, was given a prescription for 50mg of zoloft, did not have it filled yet, a higher dose had me put on a lot of weight years ago, dreamgirl do you find this is happening to you on a low dosage? also how long have you been on it? I know that I worry a lot. :-)

:-)  hi, sorry it took so long to respond.  well i have been taking ativan for over a year, ,for sleep problems, then i started zoloft about 4 months ago, very low dose 25mg, i noticed an immediate lowereing of pain in my back which told me it was somewhat anxiety related. i tried to increas my zoloft to 50 mg, and wham  i gained 6 to 7 pounds in 11 days, dropped back to 25 mg.  just this last week i stopped the zoloft, hope that is not a mistake, i just wanted to see how i would do without it, so far my sleep is disturbed and i am exhausted, but those are withdral symptoms. i might get back on the zoloft, not sure, but will not incresae as i do not want the extra pounds, i got enough to deal with already. i do not put on weight with the lower dose of zozloft.
