Hi

I was wondering if everyone on the this thread would be willing to share their symptoms, how long have they been sick with this terrible disease, what medications and the mg you take for it and what was your worse attack and how long did it last.

Thanks
Marsha

Hi Marsha... I normally hang out in the Arthritis Forum, but I suffer from GERD as well as a Hiatus Hernia, so I pop over here from time to time to read up on the posts, but I rarely post myself... Although lately, my heartburn/pain has gotten worse and worse.

I have noticed that my heartburn normally starts in the early evening. And it comes and goes. It's weird. I'll feel real bad for about 20 minutes, then it goes away for about an hour, then back again... It gets to the point that I have a hard time sleeping. I've tried sleeping with my head/torso elevated, but that doesn't always work for me either..

I used to take my meds in the morning, but I have changed to later in the day, I have noticed that it helps to minimize the burn. I have been on Prevacid, Prilosec and Aciphex. I have had an endoscope and a flex sig, and am currently awaiting the results of these procedures. I go back in to see my GI on the 25th of September.

What meds are you on?
Confirmed Diagnosis of - Psoriatic Arthritis/Spondylitis/Graves Disease/GERD/Scoliosis/Hiatal Hernia/Graves Disease of the Eyes/Chronic UTIs
Current Meds -  Enbrel/Prevacid/Synthroid/Nitrofurantoin
Past Meds - Inderal/PTU/Prednisone/Voltaren/Feldene/Mobic/Cortisone and Steroid Shots
Additional Supplements - Multi-Vitamin/Bromelian/Acidophilus/Green Tea

I normally hang outr in the Crohns forum but I suffer from GERD also... I was diagnosed when I was 19 which was 10 years ago... I take Nexium 40 mg.. I have been on Aciphex, Protonix, Prilosec, Prevacid and more I am sure... I have to change every year or two... I just have a feeling of choking on food when mine flares... It is tough to swallow.. And nausea...
Hope this helps..
