I stopped taking nexium last monday after having been on this diet for 5 days. I haven't experienced many symptoms of GERD ever since.
This diet basically says, eat what the caveman would eat, since the type of food that our ancestors ate is what the human race has evolved to eat.
Food to eat: Fruits, vegetables, lean meats (chicken, fish, etc)
Food to avoid: all grains(whole grain and regular, such as Rice, pasta, donuts, etc), all processed sugars, fatty meats such as bacon.
I have to admit I feel pretty bored with the food that i eat, the diet does allow for 1 - 2 cheat meals a week, and I wanted to wait until after my cheat meal before posting about the diet. I did feel some slight reflux, but I also stuffed myself with a bacon cheeseburger, spicy chicken strips, and alcohol...and the next day it was gone..i'm sure if I had a moderate "cheat meal" i would not have experienced any of that reflux...
Well, I just figured I'd share. I didn't really have severe gerd, just a chronic sore throat pretty much daily without nexium.
