Alkaline and Acidic Food Charts
Check out these charts for the correct foods you should be eating to help yourself nutritionally with GERD.
Apple Cider Vinegar is acidic but alkaline in the stomach - it doesn't add more acid. Apparently it's helpful for people with GERD. Take it mixed with water so it doesn't burn going down your esophagus.
For example, lemon is very acidic but when it reaches the stomach it's very alkaline. Ancient Romans used lemons for digestive health. I wouldn't use it while I had GERD but when well, a few drops of lemon juice in a glass of water is very helpful.
I really think you can cure yourself with the correct diet. I have been on an alkaline diet now for 1 month and with DGL licorice have been able to control all the horrible symptoms I suffered. See my posts.
I will write everything I did when I am completely over all the symptoms.
It's very strict and you do have to give up just about everything but I feel so much better. I refuse to take drugs longer than I have to, who knows what they do to you longterm.
