Sorry, Warrior, didn't have a clue about this card or program. However some drug companies have programs you could sign up for to get low cost prescriptions, I think you have to log on to their sites, I think Mereck has one don't know anything else because I don't qualify. I think everyone could use help. I have a script for Clarinex that I can't get filled because it's not covered in our insurance and it costs over $100. a pill
Take care and good luck
Keep everyone posted on what you find....

This is valid! I was concerned that it was a scam however I contacted two different pharmacies and they entered the codes of the card and it is valid. It will definetely save you money. You can actually enter the medication you are taking along with the dosage and it will give you the price you would have to pay when using the card. It may only save you $10 on one, but others it will save you hundreds, just depends on the drug! My husband and I have done extensive research on this. It is a sponsored link on usa today and webmd. We also confirmed its validity in two different states to make sure. Best thing it is free! I really hope this helps everyone as I know a lot of us are struggling to make it and then we have to pay so much for medications on top of all of it. Also, the site is at freedrugcard.us. With lots of love to everybody! Merry Christmas!

God Bless,

Nikole

I realize that this is an old thread but the free drug card programs really are a good money saver and have been around for quite a while. The savings are real. Unfortunately the stigma of FREE tends to make many people disregard them as a scam. If everyone understood how they can be free, I think more people would try them and many would benefit substantially. The cards offered are free because the programs receive money from the pharmacy each time a card is scanned for a prescription. The discount pricing is established by contracts between the PBA that processes insurance cards for pharmacies, the pharmacy, and the drug's manufacturer - based in part on the sales volume that pharmacy generates. It work something like a VISA or Mastercharge in that the pharmacy pays a processing fee for accepting your discount card - you get the discounted pricing and the pharmacy and the PBA and the manufacturer gets your business- if they do not accept the discount card you might shop at a pharmacy that does. In other words, the pharmacy pays a processing fee to get your business and part of that fee goes to the discount card distributor. You get a discount, the pharmacy gets your business and the discount card distributor gets part of the card processing fee - usually from 50 cents to $2.00 per card use. This is a winner for the patient. For more details on how this work you might look a the Q&A on some of the free drug card sites. SuperRxcard.com is one but there are others that have explanations as well. The bottom line is these cards are not a scam even though they are given away free. You might google one of the sites to see what people are saying about them if you are sceptical. They are definitely misunderstood and being free is part of the problem. some sites have taken to charging a membership fee just to overcome the stigma.

With my insurance I'm paying less for the medicines than this card discounts. They have a place on the site where you can find out how much the discount is for each store.

The card works similar to insurance companies. It's like a large buying group. Card holders pay pretty close to what the large insurance companies pay. The savings comes from the drug stores.

The pharmacies participate for 5 reasons:
1. They are still making a profit on the prescription or they wouldn't quote the discount prices they do.
2. They are selling prescriptions they wouldn't sell otherwise. True example: A patient went to a local pharmacy with a script for an off-label use of Cellcept. The insurance company wouldn't cover it. The cash price was $378 - too much for him to pay. With the card the price was $60 - a price he could afford.
3. Customer loyalty - this person will go to that store forever
4. There’s a reason why the pharmacy at the back of the drug store - you have to go through the aisles and buy all the stuff you don't really need.
5. Peer pressure - if all the chains but Walgreens accepted the card we would telll card users to go anywhere but Walgreens.

This card has been tried by members and they were pleased with the use of it.

Try the SuperRxcard (can be printed free at www.superrxcard.com. - they also offer a search function for participating pharmacies in your area, plus med. pricing.) It works in all 50 States. Every pharmacy in my area accepts it and it has been around since 2006 at least.

There seems to be a lot of free discount drug cards out there. I have been using one from Medicationcoupons.com for over 6 months now. It has saved me a lot of money on my medication. This website also has coupons for various types of medication. Here is a direct link to the discount card;

Hey guys these discount cards really work the best one I have found to work, is

http://cashcard.lc.healthtrans.com/Pages/default.aspx?Host=hta01.lc.healthtrans.com

I suffer from crohns disease and take plenty of steroid medicine, any way I use a drug called protonix I was paying my pharmacist 87.00 dollars for 30 tabs, With the card I am now paying 23.88, a huge saving I used many cards on the market script save, together rx..... but this one thru a place called health trans gives me the best saving,

another example is Ambien 10 mg , is used to cost me 49.99 for 30 now with this card I pay $7.78 WOW

I hope you guys pass this info to other members, I used to work for sears but since we had store closing , I had to accept a part time job with no medical benefits ...... I use a lot of urgent care clinics, and this Pharmacy card does help me alot.

I hope this darn government turns our health care around it is killing me

Discounts cards are great unless you are on Medicare or Medicaid. The fine print always says not valid if you rceive government benefits.

True in a way Even if you are on government or medicaid , medicare assistance, you can still use the discount card , My uncle .... he works for local government in Asheville , NC , and He has a copay of 12 dollars, I gave him the website to print a card , and His anxiety medicine that he uses he used to pay 12.00 for it one month , He ran it with the card and he paid 7.88 on it so now he runs first the discount card first and if it is expensive He shows his insurance card.

I am blessed to have this card, it has helped me with lab work, and medicine I have been part time employed for 2 years now , and cant afford full insurance this is truly a great help I hope this helps others

FYI, my own experience with trying the card - most of the companies offering these cards do not cover some of the newest and most popular drugs. Just as your medications covered by your regular insurance the companies have a formulary of medications they offer discounts for.

I had a new RX for a high cost drug and using one of the cards the cost was $360.00 ( Not discounted) - needless to say I had my Dr. order a different medication.

It is a good idea to check with your pharmacy to see what your cost will be versus using your medical insurance if you have insurance.

I do believe in the programs but be sure to read all the fine print.

Kindly,
Kitt

You are correct on new medicine It cannot save much but on most generic medicine it does ..... And it also prevents some pharmacist from overcharging you as I was when I used an independent and I paid 40.00 more than going to a walmart, I feel very happy to be saving 40.00 on one of my monthly meds that I would be using for the rest of my life . I feel every little bit helps especially with this economy.

A good majority of these card can come with a fee from what I have seen. Most will save you some money on prescriptions. I have checked out a few of these cards not having health insurance myself and have found that the hope rx card at www.hoperxcard.com/hope2397 is the best that I have found. it has worked better than previous ones I have used and all I had to do was show it to the pharmacist and I got my discount. I was skeptical thinking it would require me to give personal info but it didn't which was great. Better discounts than other cards i had tried.
