Hi I only found this site recently and have already found it really reassuring.
I have recently been diagnosed with LPR although I have suffered with intermitent throat problems for several years.  Mainly a burning feeling in my throat and a feeling that I have something stuck in it.  I also get reflux if I move about or bend at all after I have eaten but the throat problems have definitely been the worst problem.
It may sound crazy but I am actually releived that my doctor has finally diagnosed the problem and have started medication today.  I really want this to stop and am keen to try lifestyle/diet changes as well.  Of course, being a born worrier, I am already thinking 'what if the medication doesn't work' and know that I will then be worrying that it is something more serious.  My throat definitely gets worse when I am anxious so I know this is a vicious circle.
I would be really grateful to hear that other people have suffered from similar symptoms; burning feeling in the throat, feeling that something is stuck in my throat, feeling like I need to swallow all the time, dry throat and heartburn.  I have searched the internet (fatal for a hypochondriac like me) but have found the advice on various sites conflicting so I thought I would post on this forum and 'ask the experts'!
Thanks for any advice anyone can offer.

Hi Elkay. I've had/have all the symptoms you've described. You're the first I've heard tho who also gets a worse throat when you get anxious. Even if I get emotional it feels like its closing up and then I start choking and coughing. I was told that's just a stress trigger, and that as the acid condition improves, that throat thing should settle down quite a bit, if not, altogether. I was also told that even changes in humidty/air quality/etc could effect that. No wonder sometimes when I step outside the throat does its thing and I start coughing and choking. Can't win!
I think you'll find you're in good company here. I'm glad you have a diagnosis for your problem so you at least understand where things are coming from now. Welcome!
