This stuff doesn't seem to work for me, Carafate works much better sad to say. But I can only take that 4 times a day, and I'm eating a lot more times than that.

Does anyone know how long the licorice and Carafate each last? Trying to weigh my options here.

Closetfire,
Carafate is a drug used to treat duodenal ulcers, is that what you have????

DGL licorice (let's please use the right form of licorice, not just any one) works like ZANTAC, except it's not a drug. It's a natural supplement that should be used to heal the esophagus and then stopped.

As I wrote many times, it worked for me. I am totally GERD free and no longer use the DGL licorice. It took one month on a very careful alkaline diet (not apple cider vinegar either) using the DGL 20 minutes before meals. I needed 3 tablets each time.

Yes, I was using 3 tablets 20 minutes before 3 meals a day. I ate small meals. If I had a small snack, I didn't use the DGL.
