Has anyone tried just drinking spring water to see that makes your heartburn go away?
For me it just worked a little bit.

I don't know if it's a coincidence or not, but when I stopped using tap water to wash my fruits/veggies with and for cooking, within 24 hours my acidy problem did begin to noticably subside. I have a reverse osmosis water filtration system that has some "bladder" filter that traps gases, thereby removing the chlorine from the water, so I'm always drinking non-chlorinated water. But when I made the change with the tap water for washing and cooking food...that did make a difference. I guess it might make a difference too depending on what your area's drinking water is like. I mentioned this to my brother-in-law who also suffers from acid reflux and since he started drinking only non-chlorinated bottled water, he claims his problem has toned down considerably, also.
