I have GERD (I also have Anxiety /Panic) and went to the ER on Sunday for chest pains...well you know the routine first they make sure it is not your heart then they start to check for other things after a while they decided it must be either peptic ulcer or gastritis made me drink a nasty mix of something called a GI Cocktail gave me a prescrption for Carafate 4 times per day to help coat my stomach. I am not sure at this time it is doing any good but will continue taking it maybe it just takes time to kick in. The problem is that after that attack I am getting really nasty pains (they HURT) under my left breast feels like it is deep under the breast and goes all the way up under to the top it feels like gas or something because I also feel it move and when it does it HURTS also sometimes it feels like there is pressure in my throat and then the pain will go away for a bit and come again not only does it HURT under the left breast but sometimes I will have sharp pain in my back. I wake up in the morning with a heartburn feeling or a sick stomach and with in a few minutes the pain is there. Once I get up and moving I am fine for a while. I have just had my gallbladder out 11/6/2006 so that is out. This has gone on since Monday I am getting just a touch tired of it. Any advise guys?

When I go to the ER, they just check your heart and say it is okay, then send you home

Try fasting for a day, then eat something and see if the pain comes back .

If you read my posts, you will see that I've had exactly that discomfort. You described it better than I did, but I can relate. I would say it's not good to fast - that it will take longer for the gas pockets to dissolve. And I would try drinking lots of warm water. When you have the pain, you don't want to eat or move around, but i think that's what you need.
