I been having heart burn and chest pain for last 5-6 months. For last 2-3 months I been using Protonix which really helped me a lot but there are some side side effects of it too like head ache. Now I am using Zantac with tums and it seems to working ok, I don't feel buring inside any more but I do feel pain in upper and left chest area.

Like many of you I want to get rid of medicines and try some natural way to heal my problem. I just bought Apple Vinegar today and tried it a little bit, I did not like the taste but if I have to drint it to cure the problem I don't mind that. Can some one tell me how should I take ACV, I mean how many times a day? Before or after the meal?

I found this site today and it is very helpful, you people are doing a great job.

DANIE if this does not work, I will also try DGL Licorice.

Thanks

Heartburner,
If you scroll down you will see I posted a topic on how you should take ACV. DILUTE it in a big glass of water!! This will do nothing to heal your esophagus (please read all postings) but it will be alkaline in your stomach, reduce some of the extra acid.

If you take Zantac, DGL licorice will work the same except you won't be taking any drugs and not getting all the bad side effects. Try it, it can only help.

I tried ACV, its yucky I can't take more than 2-3 sips if I have to. Should I try ACV pills, are they as effective as the liquid.

HBurner, "its yucky"? "I can't take more than 2-3 sips IF I HAVE TO"?. Are you kidding me. Please tell me I didn't hear this again from yet another sick member crying for help. Didn't you read what Danie just said. DILUTE it. It's not as burning to the esophagus when you dilute it and why the hell are you sipping it. Just drink the darn glass of water/ACV. I didn't like drinking shots in college either but I did. Pretend your at a party, hold your breath and slam the drink. Do whatever it takes. I didn't like the smell of vinegar either and the thought of drinking it never would of occured to me had I not got sick so I understand your resistance to a point. But I tell you, my throat and voice hurt so much two years ago that I was swallowing ACV right from the spoon with no water. Yeah, it didn't taste the greatest but the pain I had was worse than taking the ACV.

If you can't drink some diluted ACV in a huge glass of water than you are not sick enough to be complaining. I just can't believe you are complaining of chest pain for 5 to 6 months but you turn around and say you can't drink 1 or 2 tablespoons of ACV mixed with a big glass of water. Unbelievable.

I had the same chest pains you talk about for 5 darn years before I even did something about it. I took the ACV and my daily chest pains were reduced by 95% on the very first time I took it so I kept taking it. Now please don't take this like I am yelling at you. I just get upset with how people here are such complainers and yet can't even do the simplest things to get better or too at least experiment for more than 1 day. I mean you have a proven recipe to eliminate your chest pains and all you have to do is drink a diluted glass of ACV and water and YOU DON'T. Why? Because the ACV is "YUCKY". I don't buy it and you get no pity from me. Continue on with your medication, your chest pains and at least you'll be happy being sick. I am happy at not being sick. The bottom line is QUIT BEING A WUS and just get it done.

Sincerely,

House

I did drink it last night and this morning and I am already feeling better, I was not really complaining. I guess all I wanted to know if ACV pills work the same way. Thank you RD for your honest reply.
