Aciphex and pregnant????

Does anyone know if it's safe to continue taking aciphex if I'm pregnant. I just found out yesturday and wasn't sure if anyone else knew. I know when i prego with my first I was put on Prevacid for heartburn but i didn't know if there was a big diffenece in the meds. Thanks!

Hi there.  Congrats on your pregnancy!  Aciphex is basically the same drug as Prevacid and Prilosec and all of the other PPIs.  I take aciphex.  My GI doctor told me the PPIs were ok for pregnancy, although I would check with my ob before I did it.  I think it would be fine for you to continue the aciphex.  I know when I was pregnant, my GERD was worse than usual.  I was not taking a PPI at the time and I wish I had been.  It would have been a much better pregnancy.  Best of luck to you.
