Wow!!
I am sooo glad to have found a site with people who can relate to my sympstons, and am looking for some advise. I am 30 years old and I was recently diagnosed with GERD March 1, and Ulcerative Colotis on the 31st of this year. about 2 weeks ago I went to the emergency room because I was going too much and I had blood in my stool. I couldn't keep anything down and it was getting worst. I told my doctor and he advised me to go. I then had a colonoscopy done in resulting to UC. I am very depressed about my situation it is beginning to affect me in every way. As I am here typing away I am getting sharp pains in my chest which started out 2 days ago. I am currently on Prevacid for the GERD and sometimes take Pepcid AC at night. I started taking Asacol about 2 days just one pill for the UC, but because I found info about complicatons if you are planning to get pregnant I stopped.

Well you see I am getting married in 2 weeks and wanted to start having kids, but now that with all of these symptons I am worried. People around me tell is all stress planning a wedding just bougth a place and they think it all has to do with stress but internally i knew there was something wrong. I was then referred to a GI. First he told me I had polyps after my colonoscopy and then found out that it wasn't polyps that it was incomclusive inflammation of the helium. To take the medication (Asacol) and I should be alright. I read the stuff and noticed it was for treating UC. He didn't tell me that. I need to find a new GI because he just keeps brushing me off with vague answers. I am very neuratic and I think he avoids my questions because I like to do research and find out too much information which worries me.

There is a list of certain foods that I should avoid and for both UC and GERD, basically eating dry foods like bread, crackers and potatoes soothe my stomach but sometimes everything bothers me. I have also become lactose intolerant and that is because of the UC. I haven't been taking vitamins for a while and I need to get some type of nutrients in my systems any suggestions...i read about fish oil is good for you.

See before all these issue I was on the Aktins diet about 5 years ago lost 25 pnds, but stopped getting my monthly friend and was loosing too much muscle. Looked to skinny. After that I began having stomach problems going to the bathroom too many times in a day I just thought my metabolism had changed. i told my General MD about, I was sometimes constipated or would go too much, he just told me eat more fiber like metamucil. Did it ..got better ...but now it has all hit me at once....I feel like I was not diagnosed in time an now it is all hitting me at once.

I am not the type to take medicine all the time..so these medicines are bothering me. I used to eat all sorts of good stuff...stopped eating junk food...no more sodas plenty of water...and was going to the gym at least 4 days a week...I thought I was doing good for myself and to come to find out my body inside was suffering. I always had some type of heartburn..but now it has gotten worst...its harder to sleep at night...and I haven't felt rested for a very long time...except when I had a endoscpy done and they gave me anesthesia....when I woke up i felt so relax which I haven't felt iin so long. The more I went to the gym and did cardio and weights the stronger and lean I would look but I would feel weird inside mostly tired and always hungry. I just though I was hitting the gym to hard.

I now I have gone on and on with my story but I feel like I need let people know my history so someone with similar conditions can advise me. I really appreciate anyone's thoughts.

Thank you for reading.

Hmmm, I noticed when I eat spinach salads (which is often) I get my sharp shooting chest pains. I did not know salad kicked up the GERD?
