GERD!  tongue    I have been smoke free since September 15th 2006. After 15 years of smoking.  I think it is so funny when people ask me how I quit.  I tell them Gastral Esophageal Reflux Disease and I highly recommend it. Yup, constant pain in my chest and throat got me over that pesky hump lol.  After years of trying the patch, gum, sun flower seeds all it took was a few months of GERD and I quit cold turkey!
Hey, if your going to have a disease that takes away everything you love (beer, cigaretts, wine, tomato sauce and other good foods) you may as well have a sense of humor about it.

right on, couldn't agree more!! I love spaghetti with meat balls with lots of onions in the tomato sause haha, that was my favorite food before i got GERD. now I don't even imagine myself eating that.

SAME THING happened to me in terms of quitting smoking, but i only smoked cigs for 2 yrs and I smoked pot for 6 yrs, I quit that too.
plus, I quit drinking too. I've been sober for last 7 months, thanks to GERD. lol the irony

it totally turned my life around, I took a big mental shock in the beginning, but now i am used to it. one thing I learned from all this is that no matter how bad it might be, you can get used to it. i think it's nature's greatest reward.
