Hey, has anyone tried a divorce to solve their acid reflux problems?  Does the problem go away when the stress goes away?

My husband has serious mental health issues that he and the doctors just can't seem to get under control.  His problem is the cause of my reflux.  He has been unstable this week and my medicines aren't working.  I've been on prescription drugs since he first went into the psych ward.  I also take OTC drugs in various combinations.  I often wake up gagging/strangling during the night.  The acid burns my throat and leaves me with a sore throat.

When my husband is stable, my situation is much better.  I don't consciously experience any anxiety and I am calm when he gets crazy.  However, my poor stomach reacts.

I've never found divorce to be a calming situation. Good luck, I wish you and your husband well.

I have wondered the same thing...I just posted a similiar question on another board.  When the stress in my life is bad, my stomach is bad...bottom line!  I feel like I outwardly handle the situation with calmness, but don't ask my stomach because it is where my body shows that I am stressed or having anxiety.
My friends all know when things in my life are hectic because I can burp with the best of them and I feel like poop!

I don't know if a divorce is the answer but I do think that your point regarding the stress is very valid!!!

Good Luck to you!
