I have had GERD and been on Aciphex for about 4 years now and for the most part it does a good job of keeping my Heartburn under control, but every once in a while, usually if I eat too much, I will get HB really bad. The pain is intense and usually starts out in my chest under my ribcage and then it will move to my back in between my shoulder blades. I find that taking a hot shower and letting the water run on my back helps a little. After it finally goes away I feel absolutely exhausted.
Last night I think I ate a little too much and got heartburn REALLY bad. It hurt so bad I felt like I couldn't breathe. I managed to get the worst of it to calm down after about an hour by taking about 6 Rolaids and some Mylanta, however all through the night and even today I still have a dull nagging pain in my back. I didn't sleep very well and am really tired and bloated today. One odd symptom I have never experience before though, my lower back was hurting really bad almost like menstrual cramps (but not) and sorry if TMI, but my urine is a dark orangeish yellow and cloudy.
So I guess my questions are:
1. Anyone else get pain in between your shoulder blades with GERD? If so, what helps you make it feel better?
2. Anyone else get lower back pain?
3. Anyone else get dark orangeish yellow and cloudy urine the next day after an attack?
I would appreciate your feedback. Thanks!
Kelli :)

Check out my post. And check out Dr. Sarno's book, the Mind Body Prescription.

OMG!  I get that same pain in my back!  I just put up a post today and so far 6 people looked at it but I have yet to get a response.  I have been having a lot of digestive issues but nothing really annoying enough to go to the Dr again!  But I have the pain every day now and a lot of bloating.  Doesn't seem like any foods agree with me lately.  Once my digestive system gets upset, it stays unhappy for weeks!  Anyway, I am also wondering what could be causing the back pain.  August '06 I have an echo done on my liver, kidneys, pancreas etc. and everything looked normal.  No stones or anything so I'm hesitant to go back to the Dr again!  I just hope nothing bad is going on inside me that I am going to regret not going to the Dr for later.  Please let me know if you've figured anything out about the back pain since you last post.  Thanks, Angela
