I woke up about midnight with a terrible "bubble" in my chest.  I thought I would die with pain.  I have had this before and it was a bad heartburn gas attack.  I had no other symptoms, so it was not heart related.  First I took 3 Gaviscon.  It eased some, so I layed back down.  Within a few minutes it started again.  I took a Pepcid AC and 3 more Gaviscon.  It eased quite a bit then.  I slept for about an hour.  I woke again with the bubble.  This time I took Apple cider vineger and honey (had helped before with heartburn and gas).  No luck.  I ate a bannana.  Some easing, but still there.  I took 2 more Gaviscon.  It began to ease and I was able to sleep again.  When I woke up at about 7:30, I had a smaller bubble, but still some pain.  I ate a light breakfast and stayed up.  After about an hour the pain went away.  It is now 4 PM and all is well.  I suspect that I ate too much dinner last night and ate too late.  I know I need at least 3 hours to digest my food.  It was stupid of me to do that.  It'l be a long time before I make that mistake again.  Lately, instead of getting a burning sensation, I get the bubble (still call it heartburn though).  Anyone else have a bubble instead of burning?

hello, you have acid reflux. 40% of people in the united states have it and it's more serious than a heart burn. these bubbles can cause shortness of breath, might feel like a heart attack, heaviness in ribcage, and even more. Tums and alkacelsar don't heal this. bananna's can cause more acids in the tummy. I have been through all of this. this is the begining stage of acid reflux. if you really really want to heal it without taking hardcore medications like prevacid, rentadine or prilosec. try refluxamine, because it is like a multi vitamine 100% natural. I took all the prescription medications, over the counter medications, home remedies, but the only thing that cured me is refluxamine. here's the website if you are interested
best of luck!
